Welcome to MediOne Physicians. To help us serve you better, please take a moment to read our frequently asked questions
IS YOUR CLINIC ACCEPTING PATIENTS?
Our Doctors are currently working through their waiting list. If interested please E-mail us to be added to our doctor’s waiting list. We do provide walk-in services for non-registered patients, however please call/email our clinic for availability
UNABLE TO GET THROUGH PHONE LINES?
E-mail us! Email is the best and most efficient method to get a hold of us.
HOW DO VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS WORK?
There may be some instances where your family doctor can/may call you to assist with a medical issue without a physical examination. In these instances, you will be called from an anonymous number at the time of your appointment. Please make every effort to ensure your contact information is up-to-date and you are available during the telephone appointment slot.
WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE MY APPOINTMENT AND I NEED TO RESCHEDULE?
Please call or email our office as soon as you realize that you will not be able to make it to your appointment. All cancellations should be made at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time. This will allow us to give another patient the opportunity to be seen. A $60 fee for Family Medicine or a $100 fee for Specialist will be charged for late cancellations and missed appointments. This is a clinic-wide policy that applies to all patients.
I HAVE AN URGENT HEALTH CONCERN, CAN I SEE THE DOCTOR SAME-DAY?
If you need to be seen urgently (e.g. fever, urinary tract infection, etc.), Registered patients can Book Online or email/call our office at to book a same-day appointment with their respective physician. These time slots are limited. However, we will do our very best to accommodate you when possible.
WHERE CAN I ACCESS CARE AFTER CLINIC HOURS?
Whenever possible, we ask our patients to avoid the use of other walk-in clinics, as they do not have your medical history and do not send reports to our office. Keeping all your medical information in one location will enable us to provide personalized health care for you and your family.
If you are a patient ENROLLED to one of our family doctors under the Family Health Organization (FHO) you are eligible to be seen at our After-Hours Clinic. This clinic is only available to our ENROLLED patients. Please call or E-mail us to inquire.
For all emergencies and more serious concerns, such as chest pain or a suspected stroke, please call 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Department.
IS THERE A CODE OF CONDUCT?
We do not tolerate rude and/or abusive behaviour towards clinic staff. We reserve the right to take appropriate measures to ensure a safe and respectful office space if this policy is breached. Inappropriate behaviour may result in your dismissal from the practice.
I GOT A TEST DONE RECENTLY, HOW WILL I KNOW MY RESULTS?
All test results are reviewed by a doctor in the clinic. You will be contacted if results are abnormal. We kindly ask patients to follow up on their test results if they do not receive a message within 2-3 weeks of test completion.
WHEN SHOULD I EXPECT MY PHONE APPOINTMENT?
Your physician will call you within one hour of your scheduled appointment time, give or take. Please keep your phone nearby and ensure it is not on silent. Physicians may call from unknown or private numbers, as they sometimes make virtual calls away from the clinic. Occasionally, appointments may run behind due to unforeseen circumstances, but we appreciate your patience. If you do not receive a call within this timeframe, please contact our clinic for assistance.
After-Hours Care (AHC):
Some of our enrolled patients may access after-hours care with their physician group for non-emergency urgent issues that cannot wait until the next available appointment. Here are examples of situations where AHC might be appropriate:
- Minor injuries or illnesses (e.g., colds, flu, sore throat, sprains).
- Urgent non-life-threatening conditions (e.g., UTIs, ear infections).
- Follow-up care that cannot wait until the next day.
- Prescription renewals for medications running out.
For emergencies or life-threatening conditions, please visit the nearest emergency room.
If you are not sure whether you need to go to the Emergency Room or not, please call 8-1-1 or visit Telehealth Live Chat at Health811 Ontario for health advice.
